FA Trophy
Despite the wintry and very unpleasant conditions, over 1,000 turned up at Wexham Park, on Tuesday evening for the replayed FA Trophy tie between Slough and Hendon.
The frozen pitch during the game became covered in snow and under these conditions both teams, unchanged from Saturday, are to be congratulated on putting up so creditable a display.
Hendon had the best of the first 20 minutes then Slough went close through Alan Game, Barron brought off a couple of fine saves from Tony Field and John Baker.
With the bitter wind behind them in the second half Slough did more attacking but could not break down the rock like Hendon defence and the game went into extra time.
Slough took Roy Davies off and brought on Bill Roberts and Hendon also made a substitution. With the conditions getting very bad it was probably fair that neither side scored. Hendon declined to toss for choice of venue for the second replay and it was finally agreed to play on the Vale Farm ground of Wembley FC on Monday night at 7.30 to try once more to decide which club goes to Runcorn in the next round.
