League Attendance: 250
These teams met at Brentford on Saturday, before an attendance of about 250 which increased as the game progressed. Leat, the visiting skipper, won the toss and took advantage of the sun and wind, the kick off being at 3:30.

Slough ran down and the ball was sent behind. From a good centre by Jaffrey, Hamilton shot wildly over for the homesters.

Leat entirely missed his kick, but Werrall cleared. Watkinson shot well for Slough and Camberland cleared with difficulty.

Brentford forwards were playing excellent football. Slough got down and Buxton kicked behind. Jones took the comer, which proved fruitless.

Jaffrey beat Werrall in a tussle and shot. Werrall fisted away but subsequently Nicholson defeated the goalkeeper after twelve minutes play, the Iatter having no chance whatever.

Leat kicked behind, but nothing came from the consequent corner. Jeffrey showed prominently for the homesters. Werrell stopped from Blackail but the next moment Leat saved a certain goal whilst Werrell was temporarily absent.

After about a quarter of an hour’s play Kent got down and shot. Camberland fell and Jones rushed up and netted the leather, thus equalising the score.

An exciting melee followed in front of the Slough citadel, and Werrell saved a well directed shot just under the crossbar. Then the Slough forwards broke away and Kent drove in a fine shot.

At the opposite end Nicholson compelled Dennett to concede an abortive corner. A centre by Jones set Milliman going, but he overran the leather when passed by the backs.

Leat’s kicking was quite a feature of the game. Another thing which struck one was that the Brentford halves were rather font of holding. Jeffrey made a good opening for the home side, which was spoilt by Nicholson.

Edwards, was responsible for a splendid straight drive, which Werrell saved with excellent judgement.

Another sprint by Kent was recorded, but his final shot went a trifle wide of the target. Jeffrey got in a similar run for Brantford, and Werrell cleared finely from the toes of Nicholson.

The game continued fast, and the custodian had to stop a hot one from Kent.

A goad bout of passing was spoilt by Kent being given offside. Just before the interval Blackall failed to score, and the half time score was — Slough 1 Brentford 1.

On crossing over a foul was given against Denett. Ewing took the free kick and scored with a good shot.

Shortly afterwards the Slough goal had a narrow escape through Werrell miskicking. Jones forced a corner of Podmore, but the guardsman sent the ball behind.

Leat cleared smartly when Blackall was getting dangerous. A capital shot by Wilmot went just over the bar. Next Edwards tested Werrell with a beauty which he skilfully saved.

A few minutes later however, Edwards beat both Leat and Dennett and obtained a third goal for Brentford, who were now having by far the best of the game.

The forwards were too good for the Slough backs. Once Werrell fisted out from Hamilton, and Blackall shot over, whilst Nicholson drove a fast shot outside. Then the Slough forwards led by Kent broke away, and the custodian saved from Werell, whilst Millman was pulled up for offside when dealing with a centre from Jones.

The homesters continued to press, and after Werrell had cleared several times, he was beaten by Nicholson.

After this Slough broke away, but Ewing cleared with a huge kick. Before the finish, Brentford added a fifth goal through the agency of Edwards.
