1st Grenadier Guards
Jackson (23, 33, 55, 0-6), Kinlin (0-4), Smith o.g. (0-5)
J. Dennett
These teams met before a good attendance of spectators at the Dolphin ground on Saturday afternoon, when the Grenadiers ran out winners by six goals to nil.

Although Dennett played a fine game at back, Slough missed Werrell, their goalkeeper, who stood down for the first time owing to an injured knee received during the game with Brentford reserves.

At first the homesters played up well against their formidable opponents, and Scrivens in goal kept out several shots. Following a series of corners, however, the guards opened the scoring 23 minutes from the start through the agency of Jackson.

10 minutes later Jackson scored a second goal from a fine shot which completely beats the custodian, and at half-time the score was 2 to nil.

10 minutes after crossing over Jackson added a third goal, and after some give-and-take play Kinlin headed a fourth goal. Subsequently Smith put the leather through his own goal, and Jackson registered a sixth.

There is no doubt that the guards were the superior team at all points, the defence being altogether to sound for the Slough attack.
