A good company assembled at the Dolphin Ground, Slough, last Saturday, to witness the match in the competition for the Southern Alliance Championship between the home club and Erith.
Neither team took the field quite up to full strength, Warren and R. W. Nash being absentees from the local division.
During the opening portion of the game each side were credited with one goal.
Soon after Slough again scored, but before the call of time the visitors equalised in a somewhat curious manner.
A foul being given against the Slough custodian for running with the ball, a prolonged scrimmage took place, and as some of the players appeared to be in a rather dangerous position, with several others on top of them, the referee stopped the game.
The spectators rushed on the ground in an excited manner, and it was several minutes before play could be resumed. The referee then threw the ball up right in the mouth of the Slough goal and it was promptly put through much to the chagrin of the home side's supporters, and no further points being added the game ended in a draw of two goals all.
After the conclusion of the match, the referee had a very rough time of it, end, although the players rendered every assistance, he reached the dressing-room with considerable difficulty,
