Position: Goalkeeper
Bio
Brother of Ron Bloom who signed from Walton and Hersham in December 1964 and returned to enjoy a more successful career there after having failed to obtain a regular first team place at Slough. He went to Walton half-way through the 1963-64 season, straight froth youth football in Bedmont.
Strangely enough Gary became a goalkeeper only by accident. As a schoolboy he was a left-winger and was a member of the South-West Middlesex XI. In one game he hurt his leg, moved into goal -and stayed there!
Gary's bad luck with that injury is his-and Slough's-good luck now, for he has proved a good capture, and Alan Binfield has had to be at the top of his form to retain his first team place.
Gary, who is a capstain operator, is married with a daughter, Suzanne.
