Position: Defender
Bio
Tall, strong defender who joined Slough after having been a regular first teamer with Bracknell Town for a number of seasons. Unfortunately found his route to a regular first team place blocked by John Delaney.Vic lived in Ascot with his parents-his father was a pretty good centre-forward in his time and was once offered a trial with Tottenham - and before joining Bracknell he played for Wick Hill Secondary School, Ascot Minors and Ascot Heath.
With Ascot Minors he was an inside-forward, but when he joined Bracknell he moved to full -back That was when he was 17, and the year before Vic was one of 66 youngsters who ho spent a week at Bisham Abbey taking part in a soccer course under the then England t team manager, Walter Winterbottom.
After three weeks at Bracknell Vic went into the first team - and stayed there six seasons. Most of that time Bracknell were in the Great Western Combination but they are now in the Surrey Senior League.
Soon after the start of the that season Vic became a little unsettled. He wanted a change of position and club, and workmate Jeff Hammond talked him into a move to Slough Town.
