Slough Town Football Club can confirm that defender Edon Pruti has completed a permanent transfer to Sutton United for an undisclosed fee.
Edon, 23, rejoined the Rebels for a second spell from Farnborough in January. Across his two stints at Arbour Park, he made 38 appearances and scored three goals.
Manager, Scott Davies commented:
“Half of me is absolutely gutted to lose Edon whereas the other half of me is delighted that we’ve managed to succeed in what we set out a few months ago when he signed.
“I made it known that, with our track record of moving players on to higher levels and full time football, Edon would be capable of doing the same and we’ve been proven to be correct.
“Since he’s returned to the club he’s been first class, both on and off the pitch. At 23, I genuinely believe that he has a bright future in the game, he’s most definitely a winner.
“He leaves a big gap to fill but I’m really pleased that he’s moved back into the professional game, and he made it clear to me from day one that this was his main objective.
“It’s been short and sweet but from the staff, players and supporters, we all wish him well and thank him for his efforts.”
Edon had the following message for Slough Town supporters:
“Short but sweet. I didn’t expect for it to be so short this time. I have loved every minute of coming back to Slough. This place welcomed me back with open arms, and I could not be more grateful.
“I want to give a massive thank you to Scotty and Yella. They have helped me massively in my development and in making the next step in my career. Ever since I came back, they outlined a clear and structured plan for what I needed to do to take that next step - all I had to do was listen to them and work hard.
“I’m going to miss the changing room and all the staff at Slough. They’ve made me feel at home since I’ve come back, and I cannot express how appreciative I am of it. They provided me with the best environment possible to develop as a player and a person.
“I wish the club nothing but the best, and I’ll be sure to keep a lookout for how well Slough do next season.”
Everyone at Slough Town would like to thank Edon for his efforts in a Rebels shirt and we wish him every success for the future.
