We are delighted to announce that Balu Makumbi has signed a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Central defender Makumbi, 19, is vice-captain of the Slough Town EDS team. He made his full debut for the club in a Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup tie at Hungerford Town in December 2024 and has also gained vital senior experience with Northwood on a dual registration arrangement.

“Balu has shown immense dedication, talent, and maturity beyond his years, both in our academy and during his time with the Elite Development Squad. His hard work has earned him this opportunity, and we believe he has a bright future ahead in the first team.
“This signing is a testament to our commitment to developing young players and providing them with a clear pathway to senior football. We look forward to seeing Balu continue to grow and make an impact at the club.”

“It’s great news that Balu has decided to sign a contract with the club. We are committed to having a pathway for the young players coming through the system and Balu epitomises everything we want in a player in making that transition into our first team squad.
“His learning and understanding of the game has come on leaps and bounds this season under the guidance of the EDS staff and also whilst out on dual registration at Northwood where he’s got important minutes in senior football.
“We look forward to seeing his progress with us in what will hopefully be the start of a promising career.”
