We are delighted to be hosting a celebration of the life of Terry Reardon at our home match against Welling United on Saturday, 23rd November.
We will warmly welcome Terry’s wife, Julie, and children Miles, Claire and Joanna, along with grandchildren to Arbour Park, where they will share memories and photographs from Terry’s remarkable days as both a player and manager at Slough Town. Several of Terry’s former teammates and colleagues have been invited, and we encourage others who knew him to attend and share their stories.
A legendary midfielder, Terry holds the record for the most appearances in a Slough Town shirt. He made the first of his 475 appearances for the club in August 1964 and was a key figure in Slough’s journey to the 1973 Amateur Cup final at Wembley, where they played in front of 41,000 spectators against Walton & Hersham. His final appearance came in April 1981 at Wexham Park, during a title-winning Isthmian Premier Division season for Slough Town.
As a manager, Terry returned to Slough to build a formidable team of local players. He is perhaps best remembered for masterminding the historic FA Cup victory over Millwall in the 1982/83 season, a milestone achievement for the Rebels.
