We are sorry to announce the departure of First Team Coach, Chris Winton.
Manager, Scott Davies had the following to say:
“It goes without saying that I’m absolutely gutted to lose Chrissy from our management team. He’s been a huge part of our relative success in the past season or so, but more importantly he’s become a close friend of ours too.
“Chris made me aware last week that he was struggling with the travelling and commitment needed at our level, which is clearly made more difficult with him living in Bedford and the recent arrival of his son, Bobby.
“Family should always come before football and I’m glad that Chrissy has made a decision that will hopefully allow him more flexibility throughout the week to be more present without the hectic schedule that comes with non-league football.
“I can’t thank him enough for what he’s brought to us a group and I know for certain how much Yella (Tony Fontenelle) and I have appreciated his input and knowledge, and how much the boys have enjoyed his sessions.
“He’s a superb coach and an even better human. We’ll miss him bringing his wonderful family down to the club, but he’s promised he won’t be a stranger, so it’s a ‘see you soon’!
