Slough Town Football Club is delighted to announce that our manager, Scott Davies, has been named the Vanarama National League South Manager of the Month for August 2024.
August proved to be an outstanding month for the Rebels, with Scott guiding the team to five wins out of six matches, placing us at the top of the league standings.
The season opener saw Slough secure a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory against last season's runners-up, Chelmsford City, at Arbour Park. A brace from Slavi Spasov turned the match around after an early setback, extending our remarkable unbeaten home run to 24 matches. Although the team faced a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Salisbury the following week, they bounced back in style just days later with a resounding 6-1 triumph over Enfield Town, with Spasov and Kweku Lucan each scoring twice.
Slough’s success continued with a 2-1 win over newly promoted Hornchurch, where Scott himself contributed to the scoreline, netting a brilliant free kick to level the match. A hard-fought 3-0 victory at Aveley followed, propelling Slough to the top of the league. The month ended on a high note with a 1-0 win against Weymouth at Arbour Park, marking a full year unbeaten at home.
Upon receiving the award, Scott Davies said:
“It’s a really nice accolade for myself, the management team, and the players. August was fantastic for us, and to be top at the end of the month is just reward for all the hard work put in throughout the summer.
