Slough Town Football Club is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with Man v Fat, a transformative weight loss program tailored for men. As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement, we are thrilled to incorporate this initiative into our broader community setup.
Man v Fat is designed specifically for men with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27.5 or higher, offering a unique approach to weight loss that combines the camaraderie of football with health-focused goals. Participants are grouped into teams and compete in 7-a-side matches over a 16-week period. Beyond on-pitch performance, teams earn additional goals by achieving weight loss targets, with prizes awarded for both league victories and individual achievements.
The program offers more than just football. Participants benefit from expert guidance, including nutritious recipes, online exercise classes, and comprehensive mental health support, ensuring a holistic approach to their wellness journey.
Our collaboration with Man v Fat Slough will see the continuation of these 7-a-side matches and the exciting introduction of an 11-a-side team. This team will compete in a Southern Regional Division, complete with cup matches, furthering our mission to help men achieve their weight loss goals while enjoying the beautiful game. We are also committed to expanding support and actively encouraging new members to join this life-changing program.
Slough Town FC Community Manager Ade Gomm expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: "After meeting with several members of the Man v Fat team, it was evident that we share a common vision of raising awareness about the tremendous benefits of this program. The fact that so many players are eager to continue their weight loss journey with an 11-a-side team speaks volumes about the positive impact being made, and we are proud to support this initiative in any way we can."
The 11-a-side team will proudly don Slough Town colours and play their home matches at Arbour Park. We invite all supporters to stay after the Rebels' game against Hemel Hempstead Town on 7th September to cheer on the Man v Fat team in their next home match.
