Update on primary school coaching provision

An update on the club's primary school coaching provision.

22/07/24

With the end of the school year upon us, it sees the conclusion of our FREE schools coaching provision.

Thirteen schools have benefited from weekly coaching sessions with STFC coaches over the last six weeks. The sessions were tailored to get children active and enjoying football. The programme delivery embedded the National Curriculum whilst focusing on the FA Four Corner Model: Physical, Psychological, Technical, and Social.

Alan Kargbo, PE Lead at Wexham Court Primary School, commented: “I would also like to take this opportunity to mention that Coach Nathan has been fantastic in coaching our Year 6 students. His sessions have been very engaging and effective, and the students have greatly benefited from the short time he was here. We even featured him in our school newsletter due to his exceptional contribution to our sports programme.”

Ashley Smith, CEO at Slough Town Football Club, added: “Community development is vital to STFC. We need to be more visible to establish the football club within our community. The primary school provision has had remarkable feedback and has set some solid initial foundations for us to build on from September, engaging with more schools.”

From September, our primary school provision will be available to all schools in the local and wider community. For more information, please contact ashley.smith@sloughtownfc.net.
