Job Title: Bar/Café Assistant(s)
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Arbour Park Stadium, Slough, Berkshire SL2 5AY
Job Summary:
The Bar/Café Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving drinks and light snacks, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar/café area, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner.
- Take and serve customer orders accurately.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
- Prepare and serve light snacks and simple food items.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu to make recommendations.
- Keep the bar/café area clean and organised.
- Wash and sanitise glassware, utensils, and equipment.
- Restock supplies and inform management of any shortages.
- Handle cash/card transactions, operate the cash register, and provide accurate change.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Adhere to alcohol serving regulations and verify the age of customers when necessary.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members.
- Assist in training new employees when required.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Work across the food/beverage outlets across the site as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Experience/personality are more important than qualifications; however, a good command of English and basic maths skills are essential.
- Experience: Previous experience in a bar or café setting is preferred. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions.
- Certifications: Food handling and safety certification (preferred).
Working Conditions:
The café/bar area will vary between quieter times and extremely busy on a match day, so applicants will need to be flexible and able to adapt. Working hours will vary depending on fixtures but will mainly be 4:30 to 10 pm shifts during the week and between 9 am and 10 pm on weekends.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary/Wage: Dependent on experience
