Slough Town Football Club is collaborating with The Slough Hub to host Slough’s inaugural sports carnival. Named the Slough Olympica, the event will take place at Arbour Park on Sunday, 28th July, and will feature sports clubs from around the town, showcasing the activities available to residents.

Coinciding with the forthcoming Paris Olympics, a wide range of sports will be represented. All clubs attending will have a stand to display the services they provide, and some will conduct demonstrations either inside the ground or on the pitch. Several sporting competitions will also be held before and during the event.

The football club has partnered with The Slough Hub due to their shared objectives with our community project. The Slough Hub aims to improve physical and mental health, as well as the economic wellbeing of Slough residents. Their goal is to make people happier, healthier, and to help them make the most of the local area. Both organisations believe that organising this event will promote active lifestyles, engage the community, and highlight the sports activities on offer in the town.

STFC Community Manager, Ade Gomm, said, "We have previously met with the team at Slough Hub, and a common theme amongst residents is that there is nothing to do in the town. The idea is for clubs to showcase the sports they provide, whether for adults, children, or those with disabilities. The event will bring all the clubs under one roof and allow residents to see just how many amazing sports clubs and facilities there are in the town. This is part of the football club's long-term strategy to become an integral part of the community."

The event will feature over 25 different sporting clubs, with 12 clubs currently offering demonstrations that attendees can participate in.

Entrance to the event is free, and tickets can be booked here.
