We are delighted to announce our partnership with Thames Hospice, which will see the Thames Hospice logo proudly displayed on the sleeves of our home shirts for the coming season.

Thames Hospice has proudly been serving the community of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire since 1987, providing specialist palliative and end of life care services to people aged 16 and over in their own homes and within the Hospice, as well as vital support for their families. Their services are free of charge to all those in the local community who need access to their vital services, but this is only made possible through the charitable support and generosity of the community it serves.

Situated on Windsor Road between Slough and Maidenhead, the Hospice’s highly experienced staff work with patients and their loved ones to develop a complete programme of care tailored to their needs, treating everyone with dignity and respect. They offer a wide range of clinical and therapeutic services, including counselling and bereavement support, complementary therapies, physiotherapy and lymphoedema services.

There is also a café at the Hospice, which serves a delicious selection of hot and cold food and beverages. The café is the ideal place to indulge in a morning treat, lunch or afternoon tea and support the Hospice at the same time, as all profits help fund their care. Thames Hospice also generates vital income from its 22 charity shops located across the Thames Valley.

Last season, we nominated our home match against Bath City as a charity matchday with various fundraising activities taking place and the Slough Town team wearing a special one-off green kit. The event raised £4,000 for Thames Hospice and recently, our men’s first team manager Scott Davies became an ambassador for the hospice. This coming season, as part of the partnership we will be delivering several fundraising events, including hosting another Thames Hospice matchday.

Steve Doyle, Commercial Director at Slough Town Football Club commented: "We're immensely proud to be partnering with Thames Hospice for the coming season. Last season the Thames Hospice matchday was a huge success and Scott Davies recently became an ambassador for the hospice.

“Our shared goal is to raise as much money for the hospice as we can whilst also raising awareness for wonderful work they do.

“I know several people, including myself, have visited the hospice and seen the amazing work that they do for people in such extraordinary and challenging times in a family's life. We also recognise the importance of our role in giving back to the community, which is giving so much to us.”

Saarika Shah, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Thames Hospice commented: “We are thrilled to grow our partnership with Slough Town FC and raise vital funds and awareness of Thames Hospice. This will allow us to continue providing compassionate and expert care to our community and raising awareness of the value of hospice care to families. Slough Town FC’s commitment to deliver positive impact to the local community and Scott Davies becoming a Thames Hospice ambassador will further cement this brilliant partnership.’’
