We are pleased to confirm the signing of 28-year-old goalkeeper Dan Lincoln.

Dan has been without a club since leaving Dorking Wanderers in the summer, having made 62 appearances in all competitions for the Surrey club.

Having started his football career in the Reading academy, he went on to play non-league football for a number of clubs, most notably Bognor Regis Town, where he made 116 appearances.

Dan is also a cricketer. He captains Berkshire and plays for Wargrave in Home Counties Premier Cricket League. He made his first-class cricket debut in July 2021, for Kent in the 2021 County Championship and has also played for Middlesex.

Manager, Scott Davies commented: “After having a conversation with Dan yesterday I’m happy that he’s agreed to join the club.

“I realise that Dan would’ve been snapped up far sooner but he’s spent his summer playing professional cricket which is quite unusual for someone to be very good at two sports at a high level.

“I’ve known Dan for around 12 years now from our days at Reading where he was a young keeper in the academy, and he’s also played there with Johnny Goddard so he’s coming into an environment where he knows people.

“He comes with experience and is a good age for a goalkeeper so will be an excellent addition to the side.”

Dan Lincoln had the following message: “I’ve known Scotty for a long time and our conversation in the week did not last very long at all. That’s testament to him as a person over his undoubted qualities as player and as a recently proven manager.

“I’m really looking forward personally to getting back playing after a very extended off-season, so to speak. And I’m really excited to help build on what has already been an incredible start for the club so far this season.

“I’ve played at Arbour Park a number of times over my career and I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces on and off the park.”

Welcome to the club, Dan.
