We have been working alongside our club captain Josh Jackman with a charity project that is very close to Josh’s heart, raising money to help and support one of his colleagues, Paul Smith who has Motor Neurone Disease.
On Saturday 9th September, we had a fundraising stall hosted by Josh’s parents which involved achieving a high score on a fun marble challenge. After the game we had sets of players and fans stay and attempt the ‘Dribble for MND’ challenge on the pitch here at Arbour Park.
Fans and players alike ran a length of the pitch with a ball, negotiating obstacles along the way. Lots of fun was had by everyone and most importantly we managed to raise a fantastic sum of just under £600 on the day.
On behalf of the club, Ade Gomm and Josh we would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who donated, either via the challenges or by handing in your loose change. Your donation will go a long way to helping Paul move into a new, more suitable home.
We will be releasing a video of the challenge and nominating other groups to attempt the challenge in the next week. In the meantime you can still donate online. To donate, click here and for more information about Paul’s story, click here.
