Rebels loan Rohan Luthra from Cardiff City

Slough Town sign goalkeeper Rohan Luthra on loan from Cardiff City.

We are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Rohan Luthra on loan from Cardiff City for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old originally joined the youth academy at Crystal Palace before joining the Bluebirds in 2021. In March 2023 he made his professional debut with Cardiff City as a late substitute in a 2-0 EFL Championship defeat to Preston North End, and in doing so he became the first goalkeeper of South Asian descent to play in the Championship.

First team manager Scott Davies commented:

“Rohan was put on my radar in the summer by a friend of mine, Darren Purse who is manager at Cardiff City U23s. We did look at the possibility of bringing him in back in July but never managed to get a deal across the line at the time.

“As soon as I was informed a couple of days ago that the deal was good to go, I’ve gone with my gut and decided to bring Rohan into the group.

“He’s just under 6’5, a real presence and someone who is held in high regard by a number of people I’ve spoken with in the game.”
