When Scott made the call to me to say that he was interested it was something that I jumped at straight away
Jeanmal Prosper
Scott Davies has added to his squad for 2023/24 with the signing of versatile 29-year-old Jeanmal Prosper from Chesham United.
Jeanmal made 135 appearances for the Generals over the course of five years and is also a current Dominica international.
Scott gave his thoughts on his newest signing:
“Jeanmal is someone that I’ve always liked as a player, but more importantly as a person. That might sound strange, but it isn’t, because as a footballer his ability is unquestioned, but you must be the right fit before anything else to join our group.
“He’s had an extremely successful stint at Chesham, picking up end of season awards on a regular basis and captaining their side as well. To be able to sign a captain from a team competing in the play-offs in the league below only a few weeks ago is a massive signing for us.
“One of the things I most like about ‘Jammers’ is the fact he’s very comfortable playing as a right back, centre half or as a central midfielder. Versatility has been a huge factor when looking at signing players as it gives us more than one option as to where you can play them, so he fits the bill perfectly.
“I’m delighted to get this one over the line and can’t wait to start working with him come pre-season.”
Jeanmal has the following message for Rebels supporters:
“After spending five years at Chesham I thought it was only right to try and test myself at a higher level. When Scott made the call to me to say that he was interested it was something that I jumped at straight away.
“I’ve known Scott for a long time, with him being from the same home town (Aylesbury) and with him being best mates with my cousin Jefferson Louis. So to come into an environment where I already know the manager seems a perfect fit.
“I’ve only ever heard good things about Slough, the fan base, but also the team as well. Hopefully we can build a good team over the summer and be competitive next season, which I’m sure we will be.”
