Squad news: Rebels sign striker Ogo Obi

We are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Ogo Obi.

09/12/22

We are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Ogo Obi from Hemel Hempstead Town, writes Scott Davies.

I played with Ogo at Hanwell Town last season. He’s someone that I’ve always liked, and I know he can bring real quality to the side in attacking areas. He fits the criteria of what we want in our players and I’m sure the Rebels fans will enjoy watching him.

At 24, he’s already gained a lot of experience in the non-league world, scoring plenty of goals along the way. It’s fair to say that I’m delighted we beat off several other clubs in the league to be able to get him on board.

Unfortunately, we are disappointed to announce that George Wells will be leaving the club. George has decided that his future lies elsewhere and is taking on a new challenge at a club playing at a lower level. We would like to thank George for his service to the club over two spells and wish him every success.

We have also decided to allow Fabio Sole leave the club. Opportunities have been limited for Fabio this season and we feel it’s right that he goes and plays as much football as he can at his age. He’s carried himself brilliantly on and off the pitch and we wish him the best in the next chapter of his career.

With Ogo joining us, and Elliot Benyon, Johnny Goddard, Joe Dandy and Matt Lench to come back into the fold, we are pleased with how the squad is shaping up and hope to confirm further additions in due course.
