As people may have seen last week, Ben Harris has left the club. We would like to thank him for his service to us over the years - he is a fantastic character and we believe that without his injury issues he could have probably played higher, as on his day he can be one of the best at what he does in the league.
We had a really good conversation, however unfortunately we all agreed that now would be the time to move on, which will work better for him and his young family which is a big priority for Ben.
Secondly, we say goodbye to Freddie Grant. Unfortunately, despite us offering him a deal for next season this has been bettered by some distance by a club in our league, and with an impending addition to his family he has had to do the right thing by him and his family. This is obviously disappointing but totally understandable.
We wish both players the best in their futures and thank them for their time at Slough Town.
In terms of the squad, we have a number of players committed for next season with a couple more to make decisions and will confirm those retained in due course.
We are also talking to numerous players at the current time, but as most managers will know this is “silly season” and we will just need to remain a little bit patient.
Once we have more confirmed news, we will update our supporters.
