Squad news: Chelmsford City

As we prepare for the first of two visits to Essex, Neil Baker gives an update on the squad making the trip to Chelmsford City.

22/04/22

Tomorrow we make the journey to Chelmsford City, who we opened our league campaign against with a maybe fortuitous 1-0 win back in August, writes Neil Baker.

With both teams having picked up 7 points from the last 9, this should be a tight game between two in-form teams.

I think Chelmsford's win against Billericay Town will have banished any concerns they had of relegation, and will now be able to play freely without any pressure which can be dangerous.

We still have an eye on that final playoff spot, knowing that whatever the results if we were able to win on Saturday and also Tuesday against Concord Rangers, we will go into our final weekend no more than 2 points off the playoffs.

In reality we know that it is a long shot, but the fact that we still have something to play for is testament to the players.

In terms of squad news, unfortunately Leon Chambers-Parillon will not be fit after re-injuring his ankle on Monday; however other than him and long-term absentee Ryan Bird we have a fully fit squad to choose from, which includes Tyler Goodrham who has been passed fit to play some part in the game by Oxford United.

We have had to make a few tough decisions this week and therefore name the following 16-man squad for the trip:

Jonathan North, Josh Jackman, Freddie Grant, Joe Dandy, Edon Pruti, Lee Togwell, Scott Davies, George Hunt, Matthew Lench, Aaron Kuhl, Tyler Goodrham, Kurtis Cumberbatch, Eitel Goueth, Imran Kayani, Alfonso Tenconi and Ben Harris
