Club statement

A club statement following yesterday's announcement from The National League.

19/02/21

We are greatly relieved at the outcome of The National League’s written resolutions, as continuing the season would have put our club at significant risk, but we are saddened that it has come to this.

Ultimately, we all want to be playing football. That is, after all what the club exists for – but it must be in a safe environment and one that does not put us under any undue financial stress which jeopardises our future.

There is the promise of better times ahead for all of us. The Government’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues at pace and the daily number of positive cases continues to drop. We remain hopeful that we will be able to safely welcome supporters back to Arbour Park later this year, but we must remain patient. Football without supporters is simply not the same, and we can’t wait to have you back.

We will endeavour to keep everyone informed as the picture becomes clearer, but in the meantime, we hope that all our supporters, volunteers, players, management, coaching staff and sponsors stay safe and take care of yourselves until we can get together again.

We would like to thank our supporters for giving us their backing from afar, including supporting our live streams and other online content. We would also like to put on record our thanks to Neil, Jon and the entire team for their hard work and for sticking with us through what has been a very trying few months.
