Tomorrow we welcome Welling United to Arbour Park as we look to bounce back from two defeats in the past week, writes Jon Underwood.
Tuesday night's FA Cup exit was really disappointing as we put in a strong first half performance and had good chances to take the lead but fell to a 'sucker punch' straight after half-time. Our second half performance then didn't match the opening 45 and this is something we have spoken about and need to address.
Our opponents will be searching for their first win of the season tomorrow, and as we say every week in the National League South the game will be close, keenly contested and we'll need to play well for 90+ minutes to give ourselves a chance of getting the win.
On the injury front we remain without Guy Hollis, Ben Harris and Ada Okorogheye and have several others carrying problems which will require some fitness tests before we finalise the starting 11.
As disappointing as it was to go out of the FA Cup on Tuesday, this will now give us a two week break after tomorrow which will be welcomed by some of these players and we hope to be in a better position squad-wise for our next game at the end of the month. We are not the only club who has suffered with injuries and this is not a big surprise given the six-month break in competitive football.
Squad: Jack Turner, Michael Edegbe, Josh Jackman, Louis Lomas, Sam Togwell, Ryan Bird, Lee Togwell, Sean Fraser, Aaron Kuhl, Cameron McGilp, Jack McKnight, Matthew Lench, Warren Harris, Max Worsfold, Paul Hodges, Dan Roberts.
Due to the current guidelines, Saturday's match will be played behind closed doors. We know it won't be the same without our loyal supporters there cheering the team on, but we will providing a live stream for a fee of £7.99.
