As many supporters will be aware, Tuesday evening’s live stream was badly affected by technical difficulties, which rendered much of the first half unwatchable.
We fully understand and appreciate the frustration with these issues, particularly when supporters of both clubs had paid for the service.
We are offering a full refund to anyone who purchased the live stream. We know it is a lot to ask, but we would ask our loyal supporters to consider offering their payment as a ‘donation’ instead of claiming a refund. On Tuesday evening we received dozens of messages from supporters offering to do just this, and it is very much appreciated at this uncertain time when we have no income streams and the value of grant funding from the Government is still unknown.
Should you wish to claim a refund due to the disruption to the live stream on Tuesday, please send an email to media@sloughtownfc.net with your full name and the email address used to purchase your stream ticket. We would appreciate your patience with this and ask that you allow a few days for your payment to be refunded.
We would please ask that our loyal supporters consider that live streaming is new to all clubs at our level of football, and to a large extent we have been “thrown in at the deep end” with a steep learning curve for both ourselves and our media partners FCVideo, who were also extremely disappointed and frustrated with the unexpected hardware issues they faced, which resulted in the stream failing. Having discussed these matters with FCVideo, further investigation and testing will be carried out before our next home game against Bath City next Tuesday in the Emirates FA Cup.
Nobody wants our live streaming service to work properly more than we do, so that we can stay engaged with you and allow you to watch the team in action. Live streaming is not an ideal situation for anyone – being present at matches played behind closed doors is a soulless experience and watching the Rebels from your own home is simply not the same as being there in person. Neil and Jon feel exactly the same from the point of view of the management team and players.
We will provide details around future live streams as soon as we can.
