Despite all of the uncertainty around football at our level at the moment, the last few weeks of pre-season have been extremely positive and we can now look forward to the season starting tomorrow with a tough trip to Dartford in the Emirates FA Cup, writes Jon Underwood.
We are pleased to confirm that three further players have signed National League South forms, and two will be included in the squad tomorrow.
Firstly, right winger Olly McCoy who has been with us throughout pre-season having left Birmingham City where he was part of their U23 side. He picked up an injury in the friendly at Windsor which has hampered him since, but he returned to full training this week. Olly will however be unavailable for tomorrow's match.
One major positive in the past few months has been the new U23 programme and we are delighted to reward two of their young talents with a place in the squad tomorrow.
Ada Okorogheye is a centre forward and an exciting prospect who has impressed when coming off the bench in three of our recent friendlies while Michael Edegbe is a young goalkeeper who has trained with Jack and Trent throughout pre-season and has done very well too.
We will be without Guy Hollis, who has been struggling with a knee problem and is awaiting results of a scan, but will choose from a 17 man squad.
Squad: Jack Turner, Josh Jackman, Louis Lomas, Ryan Bird, Sam Togwell, Lee Togwell, Sean Fraser, Aaron Kuhl, Matt Lench, Jack McKnight, Max Worsfold, Warren Harris, Paul Hodges, Ben Harris, Dan Roberts, Ada Okorogheye, Michael Edegbe.
Due to the current guidelines, tomorrow's match will be played behind closed doors. We know it won't be the same without our loyal supporters there cheering the team on, but our opponents Dartford will be providing a live stream for a fee of £10.
