The Slough Town Ladies end of season awards for 2019/20 were announced this weekend.
Five awards were handed out, with Nikhita Sangha scooping both the coveted Players’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Season awards.
Shannon Daly won the Golden Boot award as top goalscorer, Bonnie Messitt took the Supporters’ Player of the Season award and Laiba Arshad was named Most Improved Player.
Manager Craig Gareppo added the following comments on the award winners:
Nikhita is a consistent 9 out of 10 every week. Very fast, strong player who is thriving at right back even though it wasn't her natural position. She became one of the first names on the team sheet every week.
Nikhita is clearly well respected as a player. In my opinion, to be voted by best by your teammates is the best award to receive.
Bonnie is an all-action player with her box-to-box running and creative traits, and this made her a fan favourite.
Most Improved Player
Laiba was a very timid player to begin with and struggled with the physicality of women's football. But over the season she adapted superbly, becoming a very big part of our team. She thoroughly deserves her award.
Paddy (Shannon) was in a tight race for this award with Alice all season. She is very composed in front of goal and scored vital goals in a great season for her.
Congratulations to all the award winners!
