A message of thanks from Slough Town Football Club

A message of thanks after our 2019/20 season comes to an end.

21/07/20

On Sunday afternoon, our 2019/20 season came to an end, but we have plenty to look back on with pride, and can now look forward to the future.

We have previously placed on record our pride at having achieved a 5th place finish in National League South - our highest finish in the football pyramid in 22 years - and would like to repeat that sentiment. It is all credit to Neil, Jon, Trent and the squad, who have been excellent all season.

Our thanks go to everyone who has contributed in some way to making it possible for us to compete in the play-offs.

Sunday’s match involved weeks of preparation in order to ensure Arbour Park was a safe environment to host a match with the current Government guidelines on the return of sport and social distancing measures. We would like to thank everyone on the club’s Steering committee, and other volunteers for their time and efforts.

When it was announced that play-offs would be played, we launched a fundraising page in the knowledge that the club would incur significant costs and would need the help of our supporters. We also acknowledged that we are living in challenging times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that every little would help. Our magnificent supporters responded by helping us raise in excess of £12,000, for which we are truly grateful.

We are now well underway in planning and preparing for the 2020/21 season. We will keep supporters updated once there is more certainty around the start of the new season, but in the meantime please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to Arbour Park when we are able to do so.
