Squad news: Rebels name squad for Braintree trip

Jon Underwood provides an update on the squad ahead of tomorrow's trip to Cressing Road.

24/01/20

After getting back to winning ways last weekend, and two positive training sessions this week, we look forward to the trip to Essex tomorrow to take on George Borg's Braintree side, writes Jon Underwood.

They have had a difficult last month or so where they had found wins hard to come by, but following an overhaul of the squad they picked up an impressive 4-1 win at Oxford City last weekend and they will no doubt provide a stern test.

Our home form has been excellent this season and whilst our away form has been okay, this is certainly an area we feel we can improve - and with two away games coming up now in the space of four days we have an opportunity to try to do this.

The squad is looking in good shape and we have managed to nurse a few players with minor knocks over the past week or two, and it's now only Mark Nisbet who remains sidelined. He is progressing very well however and we hope to see him return to training next week.

As we announced last night, Francis Amartey has moved on to Hayes & Yeading United and we are exploring a couple of different options to add to the squad which we feel will give us a better balance. Nothing will happen before the weekend however, and we will provide an update on this next week.

We therefore travel tomorrow with the following 15-man squad.

Squad: Jack Turner, Josh Jackman, George Wells, Ryan Bird, Guy Hollis, Sam Togwell, Sean Fraser, Lee Togwell, Scott Davies, Matt Lench, Max Worsfold, Warren Harris, Dan Roberts, Ben Harris, Manny Williams.
