Team news: Rebels return to league action

Neil Baker provides an update on the squad travelling to Oxford City tomorrow.

25/10/19

Tomorrow we make the journey to Oxford City hoping to extend our unbeaten run in the National League South, however we will be travelling to a team who, despite not having made the greatest start in the league, have managed to make the First Round of the FA Cup for the third year on the bounce.

Surprisingly Mark Jones has parted ways with the club this week, and they will be taken tomorrow by Justin Merritt and ex-Slough player Andy Ballard.

Whilst in the lower reaches, they have often lost games by the odd goal, and we know that they are a tough opponent on their 3G, and therefore we will be taking nothing for granted. This is something typical with any team in this league, as on the day anybody can beat anybody.

We still find ourselves without Guy Hollis (who has had a reoccurrence of his groin strain) and Mark Nisbet (heart issue) which does leave us a little light in terms of central defenders, however in Ryan Bird we also have someone who has comfortably played a large part of his career in this position, and can be called upon if necessary.

Sean Fraser will return having played three games in a week for Beaconsfield, however Francis Amartey, Joe Grant and Nojus Trinovas will remain out playing for Hendon, Hayes & Yeading and Windsor respectively.

Therefore this leaves us to travel to Oxford with the following 15-man squad:

Jack Turner, Josh Jackman, Sean Fraser, George Wells, Lee Togwell, Sam Togwell, Ryan Bird, Warren Harris, Max Worsfold, Matthew Lench, Simon Dunn, Scott Davies, Dan Roberts, Ben Harris and Manny Williams.
