Slough Town Juniors: Weekend round-up

The Slough Town Juniors boys teams were all in action at the weekend.

The Slough Town Juniors boys teams were all in action at the weekend.

Our U14 boys played a great game on Sunday. With some big characters missing, the boys rallied around and performed at the highest level. It was great to see their hard work finally pay off and their faces at full time showed the story.

In the end they recorded a 6-1 away victory - their first of the season - which was well deserved and well overdue. We are really proud of them and also thank their parents for withstanding the horrible weather. Long may this performance level continue.

The U10 boys played their second game of the season in a very physical match. We conceded a goal in the first half against the run of play, following some changes of personnel and positions. The opposition goalkeeper made a great save from a penalty that was awarded to us.

Going into the second half we rotated players and positions again as part of our development, and the boys all did a fantastic job in whichever position they were asked to play.

We created plenty of chances throughout the game but couldn't quite manage to get that well deserved equaliser.

The U15 boys took a break from league action this weekend with an away game at Shinfield Rangers in the Berks & Bucks Cup.

We went there with a depleted squad but started very well and went 1-0 up through a great finish from Alfie L. It was soon 2-0 when Harley finished a one-on-one.

Shinfield then pulled a goal back, but our boys responded well and scored a great team goal to make it 3-1 through Joe Reed. Harley got our fourth with an emphatic finish. James then went on a great solo run and finished well. Slough were then awarded a penalty that Alfie T smashed into the top corner, making the half time score 6-1.

The boys played some good football in the second half and would have added more goals but for some great goalkeeping and sloppy finishing. Shinfield scored a late consolation to make the final score 6-2. It was a good performance from the young Rebels, who are in the hat for the next round.
