Slough Town Ladies continued their preparations for the new season with a win against Abbey Rangers.
The game was very tight for the first 20 minutes with both teams working each other out. Slough, playing a 4-2-3-1 formation, slowly started to dictate the game and took the lead. Lucy capitalised on a sloppy goal kick and scored with a left foot drive.
Abbey Rangers equalised shortly after, but Lucy scored her second goal just before half time to put the Rebels back in front. Paddy crossed the ball in and after a goalmouth scramble Lucy popped up with her second left foot finish to make it 2-1.
In the second half Slough started as the much stronger side and were on the front foot, pushing for the third.
Paddy played the ball through for Charli to run onto; her initial shot was saved, then Lucy and Alice had further shots blocked before Charli powered home a right foot half volley to make it 3-1.
Abbey then pulled another goal back, but Slough added a fourth to round off a 4-2 win. Paddy drove through the middle and played in Kayleigh down the left. She sprinted into the box and hit a left foot drive across the keeper for a great team goal.
Charli was Rebels player of the day.
