We finish our pre-season games with our friends over at Hartley Wintney, who had an excellent first season at Step 3, and include a player who has served us so well in the last few seasons in Nathan Smart as their captain.
As most will know, we have had to cancel the game on Monday at Beaconsfield, and the honest reason is we really have to look after the players that we have currently available for the first game of the season, and wrap them in cotton wool.
We are not in a position where we can just go and sign players left right and centre, and have to work with a squad, and going into the Dorking game next week, we already know we are missing Mark Nisbet (illness), Josh Jackman (injured), Joe Grant (injured), George Wells (unavailable) and Dan Roberts (suspended first 3 games).
Also Warren Harris will not feature tomorrow as he has a slight groin strain (though we expect him to be fine for next week). Matthew Lench and Sean Fraser have both had minor issues this week, and we therefore need to be careful with them tomorrow and possibly only give them 45 minutes each.
With all that in mind we will be adding Scott Davies to the squad tomorrow, and we will be sitting down with him after the game to chat about his immediate future.
We also have young defender Scott Armsworth, who has played in the last two games and done well, and we will continue to monitor him.
We are able to welcome back Lee Togwell, Simon Dunn, Guy Hollis and Ben Harris, all of whom played no part on Tuesday, and we will go with the following squad:
Jack Turner, Sean Fraser, Simon Dunn, Guy Hollis, Sam Togwell, Scott Armsworth, Max Worsfold, Lee Togwell, Matthew Lench, Scott Davies, Manny Williams, Ryan Bird, Ben Harris, Francis Amartey and Dan Roberts.
