In League 2 we made an electric start to the penultimate tournament with a thumping 5-0 win over second placed Aylesbury United with a hat-trick from Abdirisak Mohamud.

From then on we were fabulous and I don't think we had a weakness anywhere on the pitch. Our passing and movement was a joy to watch with Abdi adding a further five goals to his tally as we had three 4-0 victories and finished by demolishing MK Lynx 6-0. Mohammed Farah contributed six goals and Tudor Papuc scored four as the whole team shone. A special mention to defender Daniel Gealy who was brilliant in his first tournament at this level and even cleared off the line as our back line remained determined to keep clean sheets. Two wins from our remaining six matches will now be enough to secure the title.

The Conference side had a similar day winning five games without conceding a goal. Striker Dan Greene scored seven times, ending his barren spell in the league and combining superbly with Shawn Harding, who netted four times. Nathaniel Jeffrey was outstanding, driving the team forward in midfield and also shielding the defence by cutting out passing options to the opponents' best players. Again the title is in our own destiny and this has been a particularly difficult division with a lot more matches being played than the higher levels.

The BOBi tournament comes to a close next Sunday (2nd June) at Oxford City, and both league titles are ours as long as we keep our heads, concentrate and keep showing the effort that has put us in this strong position. Then we can start preparing for the 11-a-side SE Counties Regional Plate Finals to be held in Kent later in June.

Finally, a team comprising players from both Slough Town and Marlow represented the BOBi League against Newbury, in the annual match at the Madejski Stadium last Friday. Both our attacking full backs Daniel Gealy and Jeevan Singh, and striker Abdirisak Mohamud (two goals) were given special praise by the Berks & Bucks County officials. We always enjoy and appreciate playing at this venue and would like to thank Dan Rook and Reading FC for the opportunity.
