There was another first for Slough Town Juniors at the weekend, with the brand new U10 Girls team playing their first game!
We are still a bit light on numbers, so if you know anyone in Years 4 or 5 who might be interested, point them this way. They played well and enjoyed their first outing. As a non-competitive side, we can't report outcomes.
The U12 Girls played the league leaders in their new division have been moved up a couple of weeks ago. This was the first match with the full 9 players and against strong opposition their inexperience showed finally losing 5-1. The goal came from Ammara. However, their coach was really pleased with their performance overall.
The boys fared better on Sunday with the U13s beating Golden Eagles 6-2. We also learned that we don't need an away kit, as the home shirts offer a white alternative when turned inside out!
The U14s played in the League Cup against Hughenden Valley, scoring the only goal of the game early on to progress to the next round.
Meanwhile the U16s bowed out of the U16 Minor Cup, losing 3-2 to Sandhurst.
Next weekend seems to be mainly about County Cup competitions and most Sunday games are away from home due to the Slough Half Marathon closing roads and taking over the parks.
The girls will train at Arbour Park at 17:30 on Tuesday this week.
