A much-changed Slough Town team bowed out of the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup at Flackwell Heath of the Combined Counties Premier Division North.

Scott Davies decided to leave nine of his senior players at home, and handed full debuts to Harrison Marquez, Oliver Spicer and Josh Stranks from the EDS, and Steven Bala, on loan from QPR. Davies himself played the full 90 minutes after missing the previous three games. The substitutes bench featured three more EDS talents, trialist Andronicus Georgiou and Gary Abisogun - stepping up his return to full fitness after a long absence - all of whom made appearances.

But the Slough side was in for a tough evening against Chris Ayres’ Heathens from three levels lower down in the non-league pyramid, who put in an exemplary performance.

With so many changes made to the team, the Rebels were unable to continue the momentum gained from three consecutive home wins, with Flackwell Heath tearing into the visitors from the first whistle, scoring twice inside the opening 10 minutes before extending that advantage further before the interval.

Louis Bouwers side-footed Flackwell Heath into a third minute lead before Jethro Odumosu rounded Dan Lincoln to slot home their second in the ninth minute.

Slough struggled to keep possession in the opening 45 minutes, but as the half wore on at least showed some signs of life. The Heathens - captained by former Slough man Mark Nisbet - managed to clear a succession of corners from the visitors, while David Ogbonna flashed an effort just over the bar in the 29th minute after beating a couple of Flackwell players.

Flackwell's third goal came at a good time for them with Abdul El Jalaoui firing an unstoppable strike into the top corner in the 41st minute.

Mikel Platt missed an easy chance just before the half time whistle, firing over the bar from close range after a mix-up in the Heathens box.

A Slough goal may have changed the game, but instead Odumosu got his second of the evening with a clinical finish in the 57th minute to make it 4-0.

Mickel Platt did manage to pull a goal back from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute, and ten minutes later Flackwell keeper Jack Brooker saved well from Bala.

But the home side were able to secure their fifth of the evening in the 90th minute when Jamie Ayres curled the ball beyond substitute keeper Ryan North to wrap up a miserable night for the Rebels.
