Slough Town ended the season with a draw after a stoppage-time penalty from Liam Enver-Marum levelled the scores against visitors Redditch United.

With Redditch not having anything to play for and Slough already assured of a playoff position and fairly happy to stay in fifth, neither side needed to push for a win.

The Rebels made several changes to their starting line-up, bringing in Josh Jackman, Lewis Putman and Callum Bunting, whilst Jesse Wilson was handed a first start.

The match started slowly with both sides feeling each other out. Redditch temporarily played with ten men as Jordan Brown was off getting treatment for a head injury.

It wasn't until 17 minutes before either side had a clear opportunity. Redditch were awarded a free kick just outside the box which was blocked by one of their own players. Meanwhile, Slough's first real chance fell to Warren Harris who volleyed just over.

Both teams had chances throughout the first half with most being blocked by opposition defenders protecting their keepers. Neither keeper had a save to make until the 45th minute when Redditch keeper Bradley Catlow made a good save to deny Nathan Webb, whose shot was dipping in.

Slough made a change at half time, bringing on Enver-Marum for Gavin James with Wednesday’s semi-final in mind.

The Rebels started brightly with Harris stealing the ball off the defenders toes to set up Bunting, whose shot was cleared off the line by Jordan Cullinane-Liburd.

The second half was quiet with substitutions being the main highlight for the first 20 minutes. Redditch then scored out of the blue with an excellent header back across goal by Jack Coates after Arjun Jung nodded the ball across.

This woke Slough, who replied with a goal mouth scramble which resulted in the hosts winning a spot kick after a foul on substitute Chris Flood. However Flood, who had replaced Callum Bunting only minutes earlier, saw his kick well saved by Catlow.

Slough continued to apply pressure and forced Redditch into several fouls, resulting in yellow cards.

On 85 minutes Slough thought they had the equaliser with Gurkan Gokmen putting the ball in the back of the net but it was ruled out due to an earlier foul in Redditch's favour.

Deep into the five additional minutes, Putman went on a mazy run beating several Redditch players before being brought down for a second penalty. This time, Enver-Marum stepped up and beat Catlow from the spot, ensuring that the Rebels would avoid ending the regular league season in defeat.
