Slough Town Ladies progressed in the Berks & Bucks FA Women’s Trophy thanks to this First Round victory over S4K Ladies.
S4K’s early season form saw them top of Division 3, so Slough knew they had to be on their game.
Slough started brightly and were creating chances from the off, so it was no surprise on seven minutes when Nic Sandhu opened the scoring.
This settled Slough down who created several more chances to further increase their lead but these were not taken, and the half ended with the Rebels one goal up.
The second half started again with Slough being the dominant side and it wasn’t long before they increased their lead with Abbie Canvin coolly finishing after 47 minutes.
But credit to S4K, who themselves created a couple of chances which needed Ellie to pull off some fine saves.
S4K were now having their best spell of the match and against the run of play Abbie Canvin slotted in her second of the game to give Slough a 3-0 cushion.
Again Ellie was forced to make some good saves but could do nothing for S4K’s well-deserved goal which their spirited performance merited.
