Preview: Rebels prepare for Weymouth test

Slough face Weymouth at Arbour Park tonight having endured a challenging start to the season.

13/08/19

Following a really challenging and frustrating start to the season we look to get off the mark tonight at Arbour Park as we face a Weymouth side who have started the season very well, writes Jon Underwood.

Mark Molesley has done a fantastic job there and having come up against them a number of times in recent seasons we knew it was only a matter of time before they got themselves up to the National League South.

We are boosted tonight by the return of captain Sam Togwell and forward Dan Roberts from suspension for this game.

Our main concern from the weekend is Ben Harris who picked up a shin injury early in the game but battled on, scoring our goal, before having to come off early in the second half. He will face a late fitness test tonight before we finalise our side.

Other than Ben the injury situation is improving. Joe Grant has made an excellent recovery from his ankle injury and made a positive contribution from the bench on Saturday. Josh Jackman is also just about there now and we will be part of the squad tonight but he would ideally need a training session or two before we fully involve him. We kept Sean Fraser back on the bench on Saturday but he has declared himself fit for tonight and there is an outside chance that Simon Dunn could return at the weekend.

Manny Williams is unavailable tonight and young Scott Armsworth will be dual-registered elsewhere to get some further senior experience and we will keep a close eye on his progress.

Squad: Jack Turner, Nojus Trinovas, Sean Fraser, George Wells, Sam Togwell, Guy Hollis, Josh Jackman, Lee Togwell, Matt Lench, Scott Davies, Max Worsfold, Joe Grant, Warren Harris, Dan Roberts, Ryan Bird, Ben Harris, Francis Amartey.
