Slough Town Juniors U16s finished off their season with an impressive but hard-fought 3-1 victory over Duncanrig from East Kilbride.
The Scottish side were on an end of season tour in London and found themselves without a match after one of their opponents cancelled, so Slough stepped in to offer them a game.
The contest started brightly with both teams playing neat passing football. Slough created several very good chances but failed to find the back of the net.
The missed chances were costly as Duncanrig took the lead though a nice finish from Euan Gallacher.
But Slough kept coming forward and deservedly equalised when Lewis broke down the right and Lucas finished emphatically.
It was all square at half time and the game continued to be a close and evenly-contested affair. But a moment of magic on the left allowed Slough to take the lead through a sublime shot from Tom King.
Slough made it three from the penalty spot when Yani coolly finished after Lucas had been brought down in the box, as the young Rebels sealed victory. The match was a superb advert for youth football, played in the right spirit and with both sides giving 100%.
Elsewhere, our U10 girls made it to final of the Tilehurst Panthers tournament on Saturday, finishing as runners-up.
And there was a match between our U13s and our U14s at Arbour Park on Saturday, which ended in a win for the older boys.
