A 14-man squad completed another 90 minutes in the Rebels’ pre-season preparations at Arbour Park.

Joining up with the senior squad were trialist goalkeeper Sami Nabbad, and Jacob Wilson, Rocky Williams and Kevin Bilicki from our EDS squad.

After just two minutes, a foul by Nabbad led to the award of a penalty to Wingate & Finchley, but the spot kick struck a post with the rebound being fired over.

Soon after, Nathan Minhas played in Gary Abisogun, but the visitors’ goalkeeper made a good save.

Wingate took the lead on 33 minutes through a turn and finish from Anointed Chukwu.

Six minutes later, Slough were level with Abisogun finding the bottom corner after good play from Minhas.

Into the second half, Johnny Goddard guided a header just over the angle of post and crossbar two minutes in.

Joe Dandy put Slough in front on 65 minutes, firing home from three yards after a corner was worked back into the box by Elliot Benyon.

Moments later, it was 3-1. Good work from Goddard resulting in him finding Abisogun, who fired in his second goal of the evening.

Slough had chances to extend their lead, with three blocked shots resulting in a spot of pinball in the Wingate box.

Next for the Rebels is another home fixture against a youthful Brentford side on Friday evening.
