A late goal from Scott Harris sealed a pre-season win for Slough at Isthmian Premier side Metropolitan Police.
Against a Met side containing three former Slough players in Jake Somerville, Johnnie Dyer and Reece Yorke, the Rebels took an early lead in the opening minutes. Lewis Putman ran onto Jake Parsons' through ball, and beat the onrushing Somerville before rolling the ball into an empty net.
Slough edged the possession and attacking threat in a generally even game, with a few dangerous crosses at both ends narrowly failing to find their targets.
Jake Parsons tested Somerville with a long distance strike, and Nathan Webb headed over the bar from Gary MacDonald's flick. For Met Police, Dyer got in a fierce strike with Scott did well to hold.
In the second half, Elliot Cox went close for Met Police, before Eddie Smith was denied a goal by a goal-line clearance from Cox.
Met equalised as Charlie Collins headed in a far post cross after beating Sean Fraser to the ball.
The home side then went close to taking the lead as Jon Nurse's chipped effort hit the bar and bounced over after Joe Turner's effort was saved by Scott.
Jake Parsons had an effort superbly saved by the substitute Met keeper, with Scott Harris heading the rebound over.
But with minutes left, Slough scored what proved to be a winning goal. Callum Webb's low cross caused havoc in the Met six yard box, and Harris capitalised to force the ball in from close range.
There was still time for the impressive Jake Parsons to go close to a third, but his shot went inches over the bar from a tight angle, after an excellent run and pass from Chris Henry.
