Slough Town progressed to the next round of the Red Insure Cup with a slender victory over Chalfont St Peter at Uxbridge's Honeycroft ground.

Adam Logie, who emerged from the bench very early on to replace David Deeney, scored the only goal of the contest with ten minutes played, turning in a knock-down from Nathan Bowden-Haase with the aid of a deflection from a Chalfont defender.

Slough also hit the bar with a strike from distance and Ben Abbey had an effort chalked off for offside in the first half.

Chalfont could not muster a response in the second half and Steve Bateman's side, which featured a number of players short on match practice recently, progressed to the next round.

The match was played at Uxbridge due to the Buckinghamshire side having ongoing problems with the floodlights at their Gravel Hill ground.
