Slough Town put in one of their worst overall performances of the season and were undone by a clinical AFC Hayes side.

It took just three minutes for the visitors to strike the first blow. Ryan Kirkland was able to deliver a low cross from the right, and top scorer Danny Jordan was able to get in front of his marker and finish past Barnard at the near post.

Jordan could have doubled the lead soon after, but elected to take a shot far too early after a long ball forward, and his effort was easily saved by Barnard.

Slough's first real effort at goal came from Davies, who tried a typically speculative early effort from Harper's long pass, but his effort looped into the arms of Jimmy in the visitors' goal.

Slough were giving the visitors far too much time and space on the ball, and AFC Hayes were able to pick the Rebels apart and should really have scored a second when Trevory Charlery showed some trickery down the left hand side and put in a cross for Dean Clark, who leapt like a salmon but should have done better than putting his header over the bar.

Just before half-time, Slough hopes of an equaliser were dashed as John Gray's flicked header from a free-kick was ruled out for offside.

The second half saw changes made to try and change the flow of the game, with Jermaine Gumbs replacing Robinson. However, AFC Hayes bagged a second goal in the 56th minute with a very similar strike to the first. A right-wing cross was tucked away at the near post by Charlery, with the Rebels all at sea defensively.

Slough were offering very little in reply, and almost gifted AFC Hayes a third when a poor backpass from Gray was seized upon by Kirkland, but James Suarez was able to get back and clear the danger.

Slough's best chance of the game arrived in the 64th minute. The ball was played through to David Thomas, who put the ball over with Jimmy rushing out to meet him.

The Rebels showed vague signs of revival in the final 25 minutes, but chances were too few and far between, with Lee Riddell shooting wide from the edge of the box, and Thomas having a left-footed volley easily saved.

Rico Grimm was introduced late on in place of Meddie Nsubuga, but had little impact and the visitors sealed a good day at the office with a third goal in injury time. Dan Yeoman was afforded a simple finish to complete a miserable afternoon for Slough.
