Slough went into their match at Walton hoping to return to winning ways following their defeat at home to East Thurrock, but would have to do so without the injured Steve Daly and Jamie Brooks who had returned to Oxford United following a successful spell with the Rebels.

Slough were having the better of the opening exhanges with Ian Hodges having a couple of sights of the Walton goal, heading one effort over the bar, another strike from the edge of the area which was comfortably saved by Nick Gindre and should have opened the scoring after being played in behind the defence by Garath McCleary but could only direct his effort off the base of the post and out for a goal kick.

At the other end Sam Keevil brought a save from Clark Masters, but the keeper was more than equal to the effort, diving low to his right and smothering the rebound.

The second half continued in the same way as the first with neither side getting a real clear opportunity of the goal and despite some half chances, neither keeper was being tested. Keevil again went close for the visitors with a low drive just wide of Masters left post before Walton took the lead in the 62nd minute.

A long ball up the pitch wasn't dealt with well by the Slough defence. Scott Edgar laid the ball to Mark Nwokeji and the striker, under pressure from Leon Woodruffe, chipped the ball over Masters from the edge of the D and in off the underside of the bar.

Ten minutes later and Walton added a second with another good finish. Josias Carbon half cleared a ball into the box with a looping clearance. The ball was headed back in which found Bobby Traynor who turned John Mousinho and finished low into the corner.

Following those two flashes of quality, the half descended back into the levels which we'd seen in the first half with neither side able to trouble the opposing keeper for the remainder of the half and Walton held on comfortably to their lead to seal the win.
