Following the jubilation coming from the win against Fisher, Slough were brought back down to earth with a bump, or more accurately a defeat, as East Thurrock completed a league double over the Rebels.

The first half wasn't high on quality with neither side creating a chance of note and it took a mistake for the games opening goal as loanee John Mousinho's backpass to Clark Masters, both on loan from Brentford, was a little short and Masters attempted clearance was charged down by Danny Harris leaving Steve West with a simple finish as he was able to sidefoot into an empty net from twenty yards.

Slough started the second half with what turned out to be their best chance of the game. Garath McCleary drove through from midfield and laid the ball into the run of Jamie Brooks but the attackers shot bounced back off the near post.

It was the visitors turn to hit the frame of the goal. Danny Hayzelden turned away from Josias Carbon and fed the ball high to the back post. West's headed effort was looping back over Masters but the young keeper managed to palm the ball onto the bar and out for a corner.

Ian Hodges latched onto a long ball through to test Danny Knowles, but the United keeper was equal to the Slough striker's effort and turned it round the post.

Slough switched off as the visitors won a free kick on their left wing. Hayzelden was alert and quickly fed the dead ball into the back post to find Harris unmarked and with a simple finish, sidefooting past Masters.

Michael Alexis went close to pulling one back for Slough as his half volley pulled a good save from Knowles, with the keeper diving low to his left to keep the midfielders effort out.

Glen Harris did pull back a late consolation for Slough as he ran on to a loose ball after Brookes was tackled in the area but it was too little, too late for Slough to salvage anything from the game.
