Slough hosted Croydon Athletic having dumped the London side out of last seasons FA Cup and the visitors extracted a form of revenge as they ran out 3-1 winners over the Rebels.

Slough's opening chance of the game arrived via a long throw from Andy Ballard. Ian Hodges flicked on in the middle of the goal and Steve Daly was unlucky not to convert with a late run at the back post but his lunging volley went over.

At the other end, Michael Parkin produced a good save to tip a Tyron Myton strike onto the top of the bar after the pacy forward had cut inside from the right.

Whilst the first half might have been shy of goals, the second half gave us three in the space of six minutes. Unfortunately for Slough, two were for the visitors. A free kick from the half way line was again not dealt with by the Slough defence and Joe Sheerin was able to get between Mark Avery and Michael Parkin and prod the ball over the keeper for a simple finish.

Slough hit the bar through Hodges after another Ballard long throw was flicked on at the near post but Sheerin added his, and Croydon's, second of the game as he beat Parkin in an aerial duel from a corner from the left.

Three minutes later and Slough pulled one back. Matt Seedel beat his man down the left and crossed low into the box. Hodges diagonal run from the back post saw him meet the ball nicely and was left with an easy finish.

Slough pushed hard for an equaliser with Hodges shooting wide before Josias Carbon brought a wonderful one handed save from Luke Garrard to keep the visitors in front.

Parkin saved well from a long range effort from Jamie Evans which was dipping in under the bar before Croydon restored their two goal lead. Croydon worked the ball out to Myton on the left wing. His initial effort from the egde of the area was blocked by Avery. The ball fell to Ronnie Green and ended up back with Myton who had continued his run. An unorthodox finish with the outside of his right foot but he had space to pick his spot and found the bottom corner with ease.
