Slough gained a form of revenge for their earlier season defeat against their landlords as they took the unfamiliar position of being the away side at their "home" ground for the season. Ian Hodges took his tally to 36 for the season in all competitions with a hat-trick, whilst Boot notched his 23rd as the strike partnership continued to be deadly in front of goal.

Slough took their recent good form into the game and started the stronger of the two teams. They could have taken the lead through Haddow as he was prevented with a glorious opportunity following a Harris free kick but could not force the ball home from close range.

Slough did open the scoring through Hodges though as another Martini error, having been responsible for Slough's goal in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, as the keepers clearance hit Hodges who was then able to run through to convert into an unguarded net.

Shortly before half time with forty one minutes gone, the strike duo combined to double Slough's lead. Boot crossed in from the right for Hodges to head home at the far post.

Early in the second half, Slough went further ahead. Boot getting onto the score sheet this time with a superb volley over Martini to put Slough three in front.

Slough were reduced to ten men when Carbon handled on the line to prevent a Windsor goal but his efforts were in vain as Dave Carroll confidently converted the penalty to give Windsor a lifeline.

Unfortunately for our hosts it turned out to be no more than a consolation as the ten man Rebels went further ahead as Hodges completed his hat-trick. With fifteen minutes remaining, Harris played in Haddow down the left hand side and his shot was parried out by Martini but Hodges was on hand to slam home to the delight of the Slough support massed behind the goal.
