With the claim of being in a top six position by Christmas gone and the hope of gaining promotion looking even more difficult the Rebels' chances were dealt another blow when Oxford City left Wexham Park with all three points.

Michael Bartley and Neville Roach were both guilty of missing good early chances to put the home side in front and paid for it when Oxford's Jordan Holder beat Rebel's 'keeper Steve Mautone at the near post on 27 minutes.

Roach made amends for his earlier miss when levelling the match just before half-time. Clement James hit a shot that fell to Veli Hakki, who crossed the ball into the box for Roach to score.

Slough came close to victory with 12 minutes remaining as Paul Barrowcliff saw his shot cannon off the post, but it was Oxford's Danny Wise who grabbed the points, scoring in the 90th minutes from a corner.
